WEEK 17a | The Hero’s Journey | Metamorphosis

At the center of your being you have the answers; You know who you are and you know what you want. ~ Lao Tzu

The earnest desire to learn, from trial and error, see without being seen, allows us to become better at observing our true nature, capabilities and how our heartaches are in truth, great opportunities in disguise.

The absence of constraint, in choice or action, liberation from restraint, from the power of another, and out of the comfort zone where everything is new, and can be explored for the first time, inspired from the unknown, unexpected, igniting change, weaving the old into the new, can feel weird and sometimes frustrating to say the least.

Meeting a mentor figure, may be of great importance in receiving guidance, insight, wise advice or practical training at this crucial point, as self confidence truly begins the quest whether it be physical, spiritual, or emotional. However the threshold presents itself, taking action and moving forward signifies the Hero’s commitment to the journey of self discovery. Only through some form of “death” does the Hero emerge reborn after experiencing a metaphorical resurrection that somehow grants greater power or insight necessary to reach the journey’s end or fulfilled destiny. Everything held dear is put on the line, facing death or life as we know it will clearly never be the same again.

Whether overcoming personal challenges, having direct solutions or a new higher perspective for everyone to consider, the final reward may be literal or metaphoric, a cause for celebration, self realization, or an end to strife, but whatever it is, upon return it will represent change, success, and proof of the Hero’s Journey.
