Kindness and compassion are as natural for the mind as breathing is for the body. ~ Dr. Dan Siegel
In this presentation Dr. Dan Siegel, clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, Co-Director of the Mindful Awareness Research Center, and a Garrison Institute trustee, speaks of his pioneering work in interpersonal neurobiology, which studies how the brain is influenced by interpersonal relationships.
In his view, the mind itself is both interpersonal and intrapersonal, profoundly connecting people neurologically, physiologically and socially. He called for an approach to “internal education” that teaches children to monitor both their own internal world and the interpersonal world.

You do not see your spiritual self because the real you is hidden inside your physical body. Your Soul is the eternal you that is on a journey through the cosmos, discovering that you are illuminated with the same light energy as the stars. ~ Dr Jeff Mullan
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same as we are liberated from our own fear. Our presence automatically liberates others.” ~ Coach Carter (6/9) Movie CLIP – Our Deepest Fear (2005) #NelsonMandella (http://wp.me/p6LZBP-7s)
